APPLYING FOR THE MfA UTAH MASTER TEACHER FELLOWSHIP

Thank you for your interest in the 2016 MƒA Utah Master Teacher Fellowship, a fellowship for Utah public secondary school mathematics teachers who have completed their fourth year of teaching by the start of fellowship. Please review the information below. You may start the online application, save your work and edit the information before submitting. The application deadline for the 2016 cohort is June 1, 2016.

How do I apply?

  1. Complete the MƒA Master Teacher Fellowship online application, start it by clicking on the Application Form.
  2. Provide the names and contact information of three recommenders (principal or other administrative superior, one from a colleague, and one from current or former student) who will complete and submit a recommendation form electronically on your behalf.
  3. Send an official sealed transcript from each postsecondary school attended to MƒA Utah (Attn: Natasha Carlton, Mathematics Department, University of Utah, 155 South 1400 East, Rm 235, Salt Lake City, UT 84112).
  4. Applicants selected to interview who have not taken an ETS Praxis Mathematics Content Exam within the last 10 years will be asked to take the Praxis. Indicate your intention to take the exam as part of the online application.

Finalists will notified by the end of June 2016 and will start interviews July 18th. Awards will be announced by August 1. The program begins mid-August 2016.

National Board Certification or a professionally relevant Masters degree are not required, but are considered in the awardee selection process. Applicants selected to interview for a Master Teacher Fellowship may be asked at that time for an additional letter of recommendation and/or a description of past professional outreach work.
