Eric Rowley earned a Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences (interdisciplinary option: Math and Education) under the direction of Dr. James Cangelosi from Utah State University in 1996. Following a two-year stint as visiting professor at The University of Montana where he taught math courses for pre-service secondary math teachers and elementary teachers, he returned to USU as a member of the faculty of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. There he continued working with pre-service teachers. In 2007 he became Assistant Head of the department. In 2009 Dr. Rowley accepted a position with the Regional Campuses and Distance Education (RCDE) unit of USU based at USU-Eastern's San Juan Campus. In this position he has developed a statewide Mathematics Education program accessible to distance students and continues in the capacity as Assistant Head of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics with responsibilities related to oversight of RCDE Math/Stat programs and faculty.
